Payment Conditions

All prices are indicated in euros (Pound Sterling prices based on exchange rate quoted on june 2008) and including all taxes, bedding, towels and cleaning after departure. All prices impling a minimum stay of 3 nights - visits of just 2 nights will incur a cleaning charge of Euro 35,- (£ 29,-). There is no charge for children under the age of 4. Children between the ages of 4 and 14 are charged with Euro 20,- (£ 17,-) per night.

To make a reservation we require deposit payment to be made of 20% of the total within 7 working days to our company account. On notification of your bank transfer, we will send your confirmation by e-mail our indicating the outstanding balance payable arrival here in Barcelona. The outstanding balance (80%) is paid in cash (in EUROS) on your arrival at the apartment when you recieve the keys. Payments of deposits to confirm reservations are made in EUROS and may be made either:
  • By the IBAN/SWIFT inter-bank transfer facility to the company account.
  • By Credit Card using the company PayPal facility. (Please note a commission of 5% is charged by PayPal to use this facility.)
On acceptance of booking you will receive via e-mail or fax all the necessary information (name, reservation code,back account number, bank details) you require to make the transfer. In addition you will receive information about how to get here to the centre of Barcelona and the meeting arrangements to receive the keys.

Application of discounts:
A
10% discount applies to last minute bookings (a booking made 7 days or less before a planned arrival date) and to bookings of 7 nights or more up to a maximum of 14 nights. Bookings of more than 14 nights are dealt with on an individual basis consequently please contact us for the price quotation.

Cancellations:
The occupant may make notification of a cancellation by letter or email, up to 14 days before the arrival date. In this case the deposit payment will be refunded in full minus the corresponding bank charges for the return transaction.

Notification of a cancellation made by the occupant, by letter or email, less than 14 days from the arrival date will be dealt with on an individual basis (10% handling charge). A partial or total refund will result depending on the circumstances of the cancellation.


Check-in / Check-out:

The apartments are normally available from 12.00a.m. on the date of arrival. Should you arrive before 12.00a.m. you need to let us know and we will arrange for your luggage to be stored prior to you occupying the apartment.

When arriving before 12.00a.m. it is not always possible to check in to the apartment directly as it may need to be cleaned and prepared. Sometimes there will be other clients leaving and the apartment needs to be cleaned and prepared before you occupy it.

Departures will normally take place between office hours.

Checking out is normally at 12.00a.m. However this time is flexible. Should the apartment not be occupied on the day of your departure you are welcome to leave your luggage and belonings there until you depart. Should this not be the case we ask you to gather your luggage together at the entrance of the apartment which will allow it to be prepared and you can pick it up later when you depart. Arrivals between 22.00 and 08.00 will be charged a call out fee of Euro 20,- (£ 17,-) in addition to the pending balance which will be payable on arrival and receipt of the keys.

During your stay:

We expect you to take care of the apartment, respect the surroundings and have consideration for the people staying in the other apartments. All damage needs to be reported before checking out of the apartment (this does not inlcude minor items such as glasses, light bulbs etc).

Should problems arise during your stay with the apartment you can give us a call and we will do our very best to resolve them. Please note that complaints received afterwards do not help us to resolve them. In most cases we cannot make any refund or resolve problems when informed after departure.

We reserve the right to ask the occupants to leave promptly in the case of non-compliance with the above rules and considerations.

Number of Guests:
The number of guests should be the same as that indicated in the reservation. It is not permitted to have more people staying in the apartment than that which has been agreed and paid for. A travel cot is always available for families with babies or small children.

As a rule we don't allow pets in the apartments. This is because of the fact that many people are allergic to them. Should you want to bring a pet, please enquire beforehand.

Liabilities:
We are not responsible for any direct or indirect damages that may arise as a consequence of your stay in one of our apartments. This includes damages, insurance, losses because of fire, robbery or criminal behaviour, etc..

In the event of any litigation arising from the booking of accommodation by theRooftops /Sideways S.L., the Courts in Barcelona (Spain) shall have sole jurisdiction on such arising matters and Spanish law prevalent at the time shall be applied.
